WORKING AT MSD
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is one of New Zealand's largest government departments, providing services that make a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders.
Our work is challenging with high risks, and high public expectations - but we are passionate about it. We're always on the lookout for people who share our enthusiasm for helping New Zealanders, young and old, be safe, strong and move forward with their lives.
We are an organisation that puts people first and that includes our staff. At MSD we are committed to providing a work environment that's supportive, and that helps develop your skills and experience.
WORKING AT SWA
Our people are our centre. They’re curious, agile and hardworking, and instinctively care about the wellbeing of others. If that sounds like you – come and join us!
We’re a small government agency with a big reach across the social system. We take a broad view, looking at issues that New Zealanders face but don’t fit neatly into the work of a single agency. This allows us to get actionable insights to decision-makers, and ensure that real people – whānau and communities – are involved in and benefit from the work we do. Ultimately, we want to achieve sustainable improvements for the wellbeing of New Zealanders.
THE INDEPENDENT CHILDREN’S MONITOR
Nau Mai, Haere Mai
The Monitor’s job is to provide independent assurance that supports agencies to ensure the wellbeing and interests of tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people) are at the centre of how the state delivers care, and to support and hold to account the organisations that provide that care.
We will do this by independently monitoring the Oranga Tamariki system to provide assurance that Oranga Tamariki and approved organisations are meeting their obligations under the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989; and promote improvements to the system by identifying and sharing insights on examples of high performance and areas for improvement.
Our values are Kia Māia – to be Courageous; Kia Pono, Kia Tika – to be Trustworthy; Manaaki – to be Respectful; and Kia Huritao – to be Reflective. We are looking for people who share these values to join us.
