Work Broker roles are regionally focused. While you will have a primary service centre, you may be required to work across other locations in the Northland region over time, based on business needs.

 

 

About the role | Mō te tūnga

 

This is a relationship-led role focused on the Northlands labour market. As a Work Broker, you partner with employers to understand workforce needs, influence hiring decisions, and connect businesses with people ready to work. This is a front-facing role. You’ll spend much of your time meeting employers, building networks, and working across the Northland region rather than being desk-based.

 


You’ll work in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and collaboration across teams is essential. This role attracts people from recruitment, sales, account management, and industry roles who want to apply their skills in a role with real impact.

 

 

Why this role exists: This role is about creating employment opportunities for people who need a chance. You’ll work alongside Case Managers and employment teams to move people into jobs while building trusted partnerships with employers across Northland.

Employer engagement and partnerships

• Proactively meet employers, visit workplaces, and build strong relationships across the region
• Understand workforce needs and identify hiring opportunities
• Promote MSD employment initiatives and services to businesses
• Develop ongoing hiring pipelines and future workforce opportunities
• Travel across the Auckland region to meet employers and attend events

 

Recruitment and placement

• Promote vacancies and connect employers with suitable candidates
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention
• Advocate for candidates by promoting their strengths to employers
• Work closely with Case Managers to place people into sustainable work

 

Collaboration and programme delivery

• Contribute to wider employment programmes and initiatives
• Share labour market insights across teams
• Maintain accurate records and manage multiple workstreams

 

 

What you’ll need to succeed | Ko tō āhua

You understand employers and know how to build trusted relationships. You may come from recruitment, agency or internal talent roles, account management, business development, industry leadership, or employment services. You will bring:

 


• Experience working with employers, clients, or stakeholders to achieve outcomes
• Confidence networking, building relationships, and identifying opportunities
• Comfort with proactive outreach and engagement
• Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-changing environment
• Motivation to focus on people and employment outcomes
• A full NZ Driver Licence

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00

Starting salary dependent on relevant skills, experience, and knowledge.
