About the role | Mō te tūnga

 

As a Labour Market Advisor, you'll play a key role in addressing Top of the South's labour market needs by building and enhancing connections with employers, industry sectors, community groups, iwi, service providers, internal stakeholders, and others. You'll source accurate and insightful labour market intelligence to develop innovative solutions and partnerships with employers and others.

 

The Top of the South region covers seven districts: Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough, Kaikōura, Buller, Grey, and Westland.

 

Labour market data and insights will guide your daily activities and support the formation of strategic initiatives designed to respond effectively to Top of the South’s labour market challenges.

 

Promoting the advantages of partnering with our organisation to employers, industry groups and others is an essential aspect of this role.

 

You’ll also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, offering strategic support to ensure alignment and effectiveness across our initiatives.

 

Please note – this role requires applicants to travel across the region to engage with people in multiple locations.

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga

 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Top of the South Labour market from an economic perspective and the challenges that landscape presents from both employers’ and job seekers’ perspectives
  • Understanding of the employment or recruitment services industry
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills, including experience engaging with diverse audiences
  • Ability in sourcing and analysing data; and translating into clear insights
  • Planning and organisation skills; the ability to manage objectives, deadlines, and priorities
  • Problem-solving, innovation and strategic thinking skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or proven relevant experience in labour market, workforce planning, or economic development

 

The ideal candidate will be outcomes-focused, collaborative, adept at relationship building, and have a strong understanding of the intricacies of labour market dynamics.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $90,743.00 - $109,980.00
