The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga Mahi
As a Work Broker, you will play a crucial role in supporting people into employment by engaging with local employers and industries, identifying job opportunities and listing sustainable employment solutions for job seekers.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
- Proactively sourcing vacancies by cold calling, networking, and using your sales and marketing skills to uncover new opportunities for job seekers.
- Profiling job seekers to match them with suitable roles, while building and maintaining professional relationships with both clients and employers.
- Working closely with Case Managers and other Service Centre staff to support clients in their employment journey.
- Leading recruitment efforts for both seasonal and permanent roles, as well as engaging with industries to support recruitment and training programmes.
- Providing tailored employment solutions that benefit both job seekers and employers.
This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity until 19 December 2025 and is based in Greymouth.
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū
- Proven experience in recruitment, sales, or a similar role where relationship-building with employers is key.
- A focus on results with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, job placement targets and an ability to navigate setbacks.
- Confidence in cold calling, networking, and using technology to source employment opportunities.
- The ability to identify job opportunities and know what strategies to use to engage employers considering the local labour market.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to travel within the region to meet employers as required.
Please note - This role requires applicants to have a clean full New Zealand Driver Licence.

- A salary band range from $78,222 - $94,689 with a realistic starting salary from $78,222 per annum. Consideration will be given to the successful candidate’s individual relevant skills, experience, and other factors to determine the actual starting salary.
