About the role | Mō te tūnga
The Value Stream Lead is based in Wellington and reports to the Director, Solutions.
The Transformation Group works across MSD to support transformation programme goals through integrated delivery of products and services. The group brings together business, delivery and product leadership to shape clear value stream direction, manage interdependencies and support seamless end-to-end experiences for clients, partners and the organisation.
The Value Stream Lead steers the value stream strategy and provides end-to-end business direction for an assigned value stream. This role guides integrated workstream delivery and ensures value is delivered to clients, partners and the organisation.
You will lead cross-functional collaboration to define the value stream vision, shape roadmaps and support the successful delivery of products and services aligned with transformation programme goals. Working closely with Product Owners, Delivery Leads and other workstream leads, you will maintain delivery alignment to value stream and platform intent.
The role also manages key interdependencies across multiple products and services, balancing priorities across digital, technology, heritage platforms and service delivery activities. You’ll identify, manage and escalate value stream-related risks, issues and dependencies to support successful delivery
What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga
- Extensive experience in product management or a related role, with significant knowledge of agile frameworks, tools and practices.
- Significant experience overseeing all stages of a product or service lifecycle, from ideation through to retirement.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work, sequence activity and oversee delivery against objectives.
- Experience developing and managing product roadmaps, prioritised backlogs, delivery priorities, risks, issues and dependencies.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and manage stakeholder needs to support informed decision-making and long-term business goals.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present potential resolutions or strategies clearly and in a way tailored to different audiences.
- Experience understanding business context, needs, rules, architecture, organisational structures, cultures, capabilities and processes.
- The ability to use data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for service improvement across digital products, services and channels.
- A commitment to embedding Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in leadership and decision-making.
