The Performance and Reporting team is responsible for delivering MSD’s performance, reporting, monitoring, and accountability information. Our work covers a broad range of tasks, including producing and publishing statistics, responding to information requests, and helping users understand what’s happening in the benefit system. We also oversee MSD’s forecasting and costing functions and collaborate closely with the wider Insights group to create user-friendly data visualisations and designs.

 

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga / About the role  


The Survey Delivery Lead will oversee the contract management for the Growing Up in New Zealand Longitudinal Survey, recently supported by new Government funding. This role is for an initial 12-month period and involves working closely with subject matter experts to develop processes and manage the project at a high level.


In addition to leading this survey, the Survey Delivery Lead will also provide support and advice on other survey projects managed by MSD. Key responsibilities include ensuring good contract management practices, such as keeping records of risks, variations, and decisions.

 

Skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

 

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in operational roles.
  • Proven management experience, ideally in the public sector.
  • Leadership in survey design and implementation is essential, with experience in longitudinal research being a bonus.
  • Experience managing large survey projects and contracted research, especially in social research and evaluation, is an advantage.
  • Strong relationship management skills with senior-level stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of government processes, priorities, and machinery of government.
  • Experience working in complex political environments and making informed decisions to coordinate and integrate projects.
  • Financial literacy, including experience in costing options and using quantitative data to support recommendations.
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge and a commitment to staying informed on relevant developments.

Salary range: $120,870.00 - $150,416.00
