About the role | Mō te tūnga:
This is a senior role at the heart of how MSD manages technology risk.
You’ll be the one connecting the dots and helping to identify risks, shaping mitigation strategies, and ensuring leadership make well-informed decisions before risks become issues or incidents. It’s practical, strategic work that makes a real difference.
This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead structured risk assessments across MSD’s technology environment
- Develop and maintain clear frameworks and reporting for technology risk
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders on risk, controls, and assurance
- Work closely with security, operations, and strategy teams to build a coordinated risk picture
- Help embed good risk practice into everyday decision-making

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga:
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has significant experience (ideally 7+ years) in technology, with at least 5 years in risk management, assurance, or security roles
- Has hands-on experience with risk assessment frameworks and mitigation strategies
- Can translate risk language into something decision-makers understand
- Have proven experience building trust with technical and non-technical audiences alike
- Understands that good risk management isn’t about saying no, it’s about finding the right path forward
- Public sector or regulated industry experience is useful, but not essential

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $119,586.00 - $145,235.00
