Senior Policy Analysts - Employment Policy team

Permanent and fixed term Senior Policy Analyst opportunities for experienced candidates with regulatory and strategic policy expertise wanting to work in one of Aotearoa New Zealand's largest government organisations!
 

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga / About the role   


The opportunity sits within the Employment Policy team that focus on supporting people getting into and staying in work within Aotearoa New Zealand. The Employment Policy team develop advice to support wider labour market outcomes and play a critical role developing advice to support implementation and design of employment programmes for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market.
 
The Employment team works closely with other teams within the organisation as well as partnering with other government agencies and key external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be part of a wider supportive policy branch where collegiality and delivery of high-quality policy advice lead to better outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealanders.

Ideal candidate:


We would love to hear from motivated senior policy analysts with a track record in leading policy projects, developing credible options and landing policy advice. 

 

  • You'll need strong analytical and critical thinking ability and excellent judgement.  
  • Leadership ability and experience in providing advice on complex issues.
  • Skills in building relationships and leading engagement with stakeholders, both internally and externally to the Ministry.
  • Experience in enhancing the team's capability, including supporting junior staff with their projects.
