MSD is undertaking a once‑in‑a‑generation transformation through Services for the Future, reshaping how we deliver support and positioning MSD for the next 30 years.
This role gives you the opportunity to shape how decisions are made across the system, building something more consistent, more transparent and designed for real delivery. You’ll be part of a team focussed on lifting capability and delivering meaningful change at scale.
As a Senior Business Rules Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining, designing, and governing the business rules that underpin MSD’s future operating model.
You’ll ensure rules are accurately captured, consistently applied, and aligned with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, and system capabilities.
Working within the Business Rules Centre of Excellence and alongside SMEs, analysts, architects, and developers, you’ll help build a centralised rules repository, apply decision‑modelling techniques, and identify opportunities to streamline or automate rules to improve consistency, efficiency, and outcomes.
Your work will directly support automation, workflow, and system configuration – ensuring decision logic can be built, tested, and delivered effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing | Ko te mahi
• Leading analysis, documentation, and validation of business rules across systems and processes.
• Working with SMEs, analysts, architects, and developers to elicit, refine, and align business rules.
• Establishing and maintaining a centralised business rules repository with strong version control and audit trails.
• Applying decision‑modelling techniques to represent complex logic and support automation.
• Identifying opportunities to optimise or automate rules for improved efficiency and outcomes.
• Designing and delivering business rules processes that uplift capability across MSD.
• Connecting with communities of practice to ensure alignment with business process mapping.
• Building strong relationships across the programme to understand needs and deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintaining close ties with current‑state teams to support future alignment.

• Extensive experience in business rules design and management within complex or regulated environments.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency with business rules management systems and decision‑modelling tools.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, complex environments with multiple stakeholders.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $103,815.00 - $125,958.00
