We’re looking for 2 Senior Analysts – Reporting with strong Power BI experience  to join our team at MSD.

Mō te tūnga / About the role

MSD – services for the future is a multi-year programme to transform how we operate so we can deliver for New Zealanders and focus our resources and investment on the people who need it. The programme will make significant changes to our underlying systems, processes, and introduce redesigned services that put people first.

As part of the Insights Group, you’ll help transform how MSD delivers operational and strategic reporting. You’ll be responsible for creating reports and insights that will be instrumental for monitoring the impact of the changes, and identifying opportunities to further improve MSD’s systems, processes, and services. You’ll be part of a dedicated team of Data Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists collaborating closely with other MSD Business Groups who will use this information to support their decision-making.

Ultimately, it's about enabling better decision making by getting the right information into the hands of the right people at the right time.

To do well in this role, you’ll need strong technical and analytical skills with a focus on Snowflake and Power BI, a good understanding of MSD or employment markets (or the ability to learn quickly), and great communication and relationship skills. You’ll be confident working as part of a high-performing team with data, and bringing together the relevant measures, sharing them in a way that makes sense to others.

Mōu – Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako / Skills and experience

We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of technical skills, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset. You should have:

•    A relevant tertiary qualification (such as Economics, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Maths, Statistics, or Operations Research) or similar experience.
•    Experience delivering clear and useful analysis, insights, or advice that can be easily understood and used by operational teams and non-technical audiences.
•    Strong computer and data handling skills, with the ability to work with complex data from different sources.
•    Experience using statistical software and visual analytics tools, including as a minimum Snowflake, SQL, and Power BI to tell stories with data.
•    Great relationship-building skills and the ability to earn trust.
•    Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
•    Excellent time management and attention to detail.
•    Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-performing team.
•    Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement.
•    A client-focused approach and good business sense.
