The Disability Support Services Group (DSS) is being established to ensure fairer access to disability support services in New Zealand, ensuring those with the greatest needs receive quality support services.
The DSS Review Taskforce has been established to implement the recommendations of the Independent Review in DSS to:
- provide disabled people with certain and consistent access to DSS, no matter what their circumstances or where they live in New Zealand
- prioritise funding for disabled people with the highest needs, and those who would benefit most from early intervention support,
- ensure that Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles are put into practice
- ensure that the long-term sustainability of DSS is strengthened to provide disabled people and carers with services that are both fair and affordable.
Te āhua o te tūranga / About the role:
As the Programme Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing a comprehensive work programme in collaboration with the Taskforce and the Disability Support Services group (DSS).
Your expertise in programme and project management will ensure effective quality assurance and successful delivery of projects that align with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert programme and project management advice to support our strategic priorities.
- Lead the implementation of a work programme, both guiding the work and assisting with delivery where necessary.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues associated with the programme of work.
- Ensure the development and regular maintenance of programme plans, along with accurate communication to all stakeholders.
- Offer strategic advice to the Taskforce, DSS, government, and other external stakeholders involved in programme projects.
- Oversee change control processes to ensure project success.

Nōu te rourou | What you bring:
- Significant experience in programme and project management, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project delivery.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships with senior staff members across various workstreams and build trust quickly.
- Advanced knowledge of programme management methods, including techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes.
- Experience applying critical thinking to enterprise-wide change and sound judgment to provide strategic advice on complex issues.
- Strong communication skills including written with the ability to communicate at all level s across the organisation.
- A deep understanding and experience working in the Disability Sector and the unique requirements it brings is not essential but would be an advantage.

Salary range: $141,109.00 - $175,603.00
