The Disability Support Services Group (DSS) has been established to ensure fairer access to disability support services in New Zealand, ensuring those with the greatest needs receive quality support services.
The Transformation team is in place to continue work to strengthen DSS services for the future following the implementation of the independent review recommendations.
The work ahead aims to:
- provide disabled people with certain and consistent access to DSS, no matter what their circumstances or where they live in New Zealand
- prioritise funding for disabled people with the highest needs, and those who would benefit most from early intervention support,
- ensure that Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles are put into practice
- ensure that the long-term sustainability of DSS is strengthened to provide disabled people and carers with services that are consistent, fair and affordable.
About the role | Mō te tūnga:
As the Programme Coordinator / Master Scheduler, you’ll provide expert coordination support across the Disability Support Services Transformation Programme, with a strong focus on detailed integrated programme scheduling, project planning, risk identification and management best practice and mapping and maintaining a clear view of dependencies across workstreams.
This role is critical to supporting the establishment of an integrated Programme schedule, keeping the plan current, identifying risks and issues early, and supporting project managers and delivery leaders with planning, scheduling, reporting, and governance information to enable successful programme delivery.

This role is a 12 month fixed term opportunity and is based in our Wellington office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain the integrated programme schedule and ensure planning milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are visible across the programme
- Support project managers and delivery leads with project planning, scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of delivery activity
- Actively manage, monitor and maintain programme risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and dependencies registers
- Provide governance reporting and schedule updates to support governance boards and steering committees
- Develop, update, and maintain programme plans, documentation, and reporting artefacts
- Provide high-quality coordination and administrative support to the programme team
- Identify schedule dependencies, impacts, risks, and changes, and escalate where needed to support informed decision-making
- Support delivery of critical success factors for the DSS Transformation programme

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga:
- A strong background in programme or project coordination role supporting complex programmes of work, preferably within the NZ Government sector.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and managing large scale integrated programme or project schedules.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, dependency management, and tracking delivery against programme plans.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and programme planning tools such as Excel or MS Project.
- Experience managing or maintaining risk, issue, assumption, action, and decision registers.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including preparing clear reports and governance materials.
- Proven ability to prioritise in a busy and complex environment and apply sound judgement when managing competing deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $69,519.00 - $84,041.00
