Te Pae Tawhiti – Our Future  is about MSD’s future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders. 
 
Te Pae Tawhiti Programme  is a once in a generation, multi-year transformation, which aims to ensure MSD has the capability to serve New Zealanders now and for decades to come.  
 
Service Experience is the key implementation arm of this transformation. Through Service Experience we will implement the technology, processes and tools needed to land both our Future Service Model and Client Engagement Practice, while also transforming the way the Ministry delivers its core products and services for clients, staff and partners.  
 

 

The Platform Capability Lead/Product Owner is a key leadership role within Service Experience. Leading one of the critical product delivery teams, you’ll create and own the product roadmap, manage the backlog, and prioritise work to be done to enable delivery of programme outcomes. 
 
You’ll be the “face of the product” and will engage with stakeholders across the business to keep them connected to the work being done.
 
Service Experience is a large and complex programme of work. We are in the process of starting to build our new systems. During this phase you’ll work closely with the Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and Directors Service Experience to lead the creation of a high performing team culture.
 

 

 

You will need:
 
We are looking for a Platform Capability Lead/Product Owner with experience leading within large scale service and technology transformation programmes in the public sector.
 
You’ll need the ability to see the big picture while also being comfortable diving into the detail when required. You’ll have strong relationship building skills, and be comfortable working in fast paced environments. 
 
In Service Experience, we’ll be delivering significant technology, process, and people change. You’ll bring a collaborative approach to ensure dependencies and connections with other workstreams are understood and managed effectively. 
 
This is a once in a generation opportunity to change the way we deliver our services, and to have a significant impact on the lives of New Zealanders. 

You will be instrumental in developing and implementing a new service experience for MSD.
 
 


We are looking for a candidate who will bring:
 

•    Experience in the successful delivery of time critical work pieces within a complex transformation programme
•    Experience in the development and implementation of technology products, including Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions such as Salesforce
•    Experience leading technical delivery programmes of work in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments
•    Excellent communication skills and the confidence to champion the team’s work and value being delivered
•    A passion for delivering solutions that make things better
•    A good understanding of the mechanics of government
•    Proven experience in working in a fast-paced environment
•    Experience in navigating across the business to ensure contribution to the work is timely and impactful
•    The ability to create a positive and productive team environment
•    Ideally, an understanding of Human Centred Design and/or User Experience Design principles and methods.
 
 

Salary range: $136,420.00 - $169,767.00
