About the role | Mō te tūnga:
The Business Analyst role sits within the Product Team within Services and Contract Management and is focused on supporting project delivery. You will work as part of project teams to help define, document and manage business requirements from start to finish, using either traditional or agile project delivery approaches.
The role focuses on understanding business needs and translating them into clear requirements that support changes to processes, ways of working and systems. You will work closely with clients, partners, providers and users to make sure their needs are understood and reflected in project outcomes.
As a Business Analyst, you will act as a key link between the business and delivery teams, helping to ensure that new or improved systems, processes and practices support MCP’s services and objectives.
What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga:
• Experience working in project delivery roles that involve business change, systems, processes and user experience
• Sound understanding of how business needs, technology and client experience fit together
• Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse requirements and develop practical solutions
• Experience analysing data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and recommending appropriate actions
• Well‑developed problem‑solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes
• Familiarity with working within a public sector environment
• Understanding of tools and methods used to analyse data and information
• Strong attention to detail, including accurate documentation and information management
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a business or operational context
• A collaborative approach, willingly sharing knowledge and contributing to shared goals
• Curious and comfortable working through ambiguity to create clarity
• Resilient and persistent, with the ability to see work through to completion
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with multiple sources of information
• Keeps up to date with business and technology trends
• Focused on practical, workable solutions that support service delivery
• Able to build effective relationships to understand business functions
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within and across teams

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00
