Case Manager: Prisoner Re-integration – Northland

 

Full time, permanent position
 

 

Location: Initially based in Kaikohe Community Link, having the flexibility to move between Kaikohe and Kawakawa

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Case Manager to join the Prisoner Re-integration Team, Northland Region. 
 

 

 

What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
 

This is a challenging, exciting and rewarding role that primarily focuses on working with Ara Poutama Aotearoa, Department of Corrections staff and stakeholders, streamlining the reintegration process for clients, and providing support where significant barriers exist.

 
The Prisoner Reintegration Case Manager will work closely with clients, both internal and external stakeholders to assist with the following key responsibilities:

 
•    Proactive case management of clients, providing transition support prior to the client’s release within the Region.
•    Providing specialised support service for clients post release in support of release plans.
•    Assisting clients with information on Work and Income products and services and supporting clients to apply where entitlement exists. This includes Steps to Freedom payments prior to release, where applicable.
•    Providing verification of inmate trust account balances to assist with the processing of Steps to Freedom payments pre-release where possible.
•    Providing support for the clients to make appointments with service centres as required.

We are looking for someone who can work in a fast paced, pressured environment and have the confidence to make good, considered decisions. You’ll have strong people skills and able to build strong networks and negotiate outcomes. You will be flexible in your approach to dealing with different people from a variety of backgrounds, understand their unique situation and challenges. 

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:


•    Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop trust and rapport quickly.
•    Sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
•    Sound computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
•    Exceptional customer service skills, client focused.

 

You must have a full and clear NZ Driver’s License as you will be required to travel in this role.

Remuneration:

 

The starting salary for this role is $68,660.00 to $83,003.00 (B04) per annum in line with proven skills, experience and performance.
