About the role | Mō te tūnga
• 1 x Fixed term/Secondment opportunity through to 30 June 2027 based in Te Puke
• Starting salary from $79,200 to $95,873
• Based in respective sites but will need the flexibility to travel around Western Bay of Plenty
We are particularly looking for internal candidates who are motivated to help maximise employment outcomes and make a real difference for our clients and employers.
You may not have previous B2B sales or recruitment experience, but you will need to be excited by the challenge, have the right mindset and be ready to learn and grow. We’re looking for someone who is eager, driven, proactive and willing to go the extra mile to achieve great outcomes.
You’ll need excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, establish rapport and develop and maintain a network of employers. You’ll be a self-starter who is highly organised, collaborative and brings a positive, can-do attitude to everything you do.
Most importantly, you’ll genuinely want to make a difference — helping employers find the right people while supporting our clients to achieve meaningful employment outcomes.

What you’ll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create job opportunities and support sustainable employment outcomes.
- Work closely with businesses to establish and promote vacancies, manage the recruitment process, and assist with onboarding and induction.
- Educate employers on MSD’s products and services, ensuring they are aware of available support and incentives.
- Work with colleagues across the region, this includes Case Managers to connect clients to seasonal and permanent work.
- Advocate for clients by matching them to suitable roles and promoting their skills to potential employers.
- Ensure that internal systems are kept up to date, recording all interactions with employers and clients.
What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga
- Proven experience in recruitment, sales, account management, business development, or similar roles where building strong relationships with employers was essential.
- Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet job placement targets, manage competing priorities, and remain resilient through challenges.
- Confident in cold calling, networking, and using digital tools to connect with employers and uncover new opportunities.
- Strong ability to identify job opportunities and tailor your approach—whether through an elevator pitch, proposal, or meeting—based on employer needs and current labour market trends.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel within the region to meet with employers and attend engagement activities as needed.
A full NZ Driver Licence and the ability to travel around the Western Bay of Plenty region are essential for this role.
