As a Technology Security Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing specialized and technical advice on technology security matters to our technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring that our solutions are designed with the highest security standards, aligning with MSD’s security strategies and policies.


 
Key Responsibilities | Ngā kawenga matua

 

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide expert security guidance and advice on technology solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement security standards and frameworks.
  • Assist projects and programs with level one assurance as part of MSD’s C & A process.
  • Provide security maturity assessments and reviews
  • Conduct risk assessments and support security risk management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote secure design practices.
  • Review new business proposals, offering specialist advice on security implications.

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

 

  • Strong knowledge in security controls across various domains, including cloud security (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365), data security, and identity management.
  • Ability to assess complex security risks and develop innovative solutions.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive professional experience.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NZISM, PSR, CERT NZ Top Ten, ISO27001, and frameworks like NIST and ACSC Essential Eight.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proven track record of building relationships with diverse stakeholders and facilitating teamwork.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and security practices.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $139,920.00 - $170,089.00
