Supervising Social Worker, Permanent, full time, Wellington (initially based in Upper Hutt)

 As a supervising social worker you will be part of a supportive site management team who are absolutely committed to the Oranga Tamariki values and put vulnerable children and young people at the heart of everything we do.


 You will be focused on continuous learning and best practice as you manage and work in partnership with a team of social workers and other stakeholders to protect vulnerable children.  There is lots of variety and challenge with no two days being the same. The ability to quickly work through complex information to make solid safe decisions is essential.  



For this role you will need:


•    a Social Work qualification recognised by the Social Work Registration Board along with current SWRB registration and current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)

•    sound statutory social work knowledge and practice

•    experience managing people and building relationships 

•    current full clean New Zealand drivers licence with no conditions

•    excellent written and oral communication skills

•    resilience, ability to work under pressure

•    strong cultural competency and be comfortable working in bi-cultural frameworks

•    current right to work in New Zealand.
