Senior / Principal Policy Analysts

 

 

 

 

The Social Wellbeing Agency | Toi Hau Tāngata is looking for experienced policy professionals to provide social sector decision makers with compelling policy advice and insights. 

 

 

About you

 

 

Are you excited about developing quality policy advice from insights, evidence and data to inform cross-social sector policy?  Are you an articulate communicator who is comfortable providing sound and balanced analysis and policy advice to stakeholders?  We could have the perfect role for you where you can shape policy and insights to improve the wellbeing of Aotearoa.  

 

 

Who we are looking for?

 

 

We are looking for Senior / Principal Policy Analysts with a genuine interest in social sector policy.  You will also have:  

 

•    Experience in providing high quality and innovative policy advice, ideally in the public sector.  
•    An understanding of the principles of policy development and quality policy advice processes.  
•    Strong collaboration, coordination and influencing skills with an ability to effectively engage with a wide range of people.
•    Excellent written and visual communication skills with an ability to translate technical or analytical information for a non-technical audience.  
•    The ability to deliver work to a high standard and on time, both independently and with the support of others.
•    An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to develop your cultural capability in te ao Māori.  

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

 

There’s always plenty of variety in what we do. Depending on your level of experience your projects can range from discrete, quick turnaround policy advice for the Social Wellbeing Board or our Minister, to longer term projects and partnerships with key stakeholders.  

 

 

You will work with our team of data scientists, research and evaluation experts and our sector engagement team to draw out insights to provide quality policy advice and recommendations for social sector decision makers. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts inside and outside of government to provide the best advice and shape cross-sector policies. 

 

 

Salary ranges:

 

Senior Policy Analyst - $98,500 - $139,000

Principal Policy Analyst - $138,000 - $194,900
