This is a unique and rare opportunity for a number of Business Analyst ranging from Intermediate through to Senior, to join us in our newly formed change function.
 

  • Joining a new team of business analysts who will be assigned to various key projects across the organisation

About the role:

 

Oranga Tamariki has an ambitious programme of change to manage.  These projects are fundamental to the work of the organisation and our future state.
As a new team, we have some big pieces of work ahead of us, paired with some ambitious goals.  The role will see you building and establishing practices for a number of projects, therefore if you are an experienced Business Analyst looking for your next challenge, this could be the role for you.

 

Please note, this is a role that will focus on business and transformational change. If you are looking for just requirements elicitation, UAT or writing release notes – this would not be the job for you.

 

We are seeking candidates who have worked within a project management office and worked across multiple types of projects/programmes that effectively manage change across people, policy, processes, systems, applications and our external stakeholders.
 

Skills and experience:

 

We are seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts who have lead or have had significant experience in the development of frameworks and practices for large scale projects, which are working to improve ways of working with partners and customers through to delivery of change.


You will have a solid understanding of social welfare needs in relation to whānau and communities and will ideally have prior experience working in this area.

In order to succeed in this role you will have:

 

  • Strong BA skills (including facilitation, requirements gathering, documentation, process mapping, current and future state analysis)
  • Experience as a Business Analyst within government organisations
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering a range of outputs for business projects
  • Knowledge of indigenous models of practice with a commitment to delivering to our Māori cultural framework
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to present complex information in an engaging and easy to understand way
  • Flexibility and be adaptable, a reliable Business Analyst with strong ethics and business nature

 

It would be a bonus if you have:
 

  • Knowledge of Te Reo andTikanga Māori
  • Experience working with iwi Māori
  • Knowledge of issues faced by children and families at the edge of State care (i.e. at risk of having children taken into care)
