About us:

Our tamariki and rangatahi deserve to feel safe, have their voices heard, and be surrounded by loving whānau. Putting children first guides everything we do here at Oranga Tamariki–Ministry for Children. Along with that, we value fairness and sincerity. We treat whānau with respect and we think long-term. We believe that by getting involved early in their lives and showing love and care, we give children the best chance of growing into happy thriving New Zealanders.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Voices of Children and Young People team engages effectively and meaningfully with tamariki and rangatahi, especially tamariki and rangatahi Māori. This role will use youth development and advocacy approaches to help tamariki and rangatahi be heard, have their voices valued and acted on across Oranga Tamariki.
