Te Pae Tawhiti – Our Future is about the Ministry of Social Development’s (MSD) future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders.  Te Pae Tawhiti transformation programme will deliver services that are easier, more accessible and integrated across employment, housing and income support with greater use of partnering.

 

 

Achieving our Te Pae Tawhiti vision will be a long-term journey for MSD.  

 

 

 

Our Programme Advisor will support the Transformation Office team to ensure its smooth and effective operation.

 

 

Working alongside the Senior Programme Advisor, you will utilise your excellent writing skills in providing visibility on the portfolio of work via reporting to a number of stakeholders.  Complementing this skillset, you will also have experience in:

 

•    Maintaining formal project artefacts and documents
•    Facilitation and coaching of cadence, ceremonies and practices
•    Development of programme induction materials, risk registers and project closure reports

 

 

You will be someone who constantly displays initiative, self-management and great interpersonal skills.  This is a busy role, so you will be adept at prioritising work and using sound judgement around competing deadlines.

 

 

 

Our Senior Programme Advisor will support the efficient and effective management and delivery of the Te Pae Tawhiti transformation programme and the key goals and accountabilities of the Transformation Office, including associated frameworks and processes.  Your proven experience and knowledge will enable the Director and Programme Manager to focus on the critical success factors of this important mahi.
 

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Programme Advisor who can hit the ground running, with proven experience in building stakeholder relationships and working in a collaborative team environment.
 

 

A suitable candidate will have:
 

•    A strong understanding of how a programme’s strategic direction might be implemented
•    Demonstrated experience and championship of agile working approaches
•    Experience in the development of critical core artefacts that support programme planning and demonstrate programme progress
•    Expertise and experience in the use of programme/project methodologies, tools and principles
•    Proven decision-making and leadership skills
 

 

You will be someone who has highly effective organisation, planning and communication skills and be a motivated individual who can adapt easily to the needs of the programme within a time pressured environment.  There is an opportunity to include an element of risk identification and assessment into this role depending on your skillset. 


 

Our Risk Specialist will be focused on ensuring that quality and consistent risk management practice is taking place.  This will be achieved by:

 

•    Supporting staff to identify and assess risks
•    Supporting staff in applying the MSD risk management framework tools and templates
•    Encouraging a culture which is risk aware across MSD

 

 

Relationship building and maintaining will be a core skill of this role.

 

 

A suitable candidate will have:

 

•    Proven experience in risk management within a portfolio or programme setting
•    Demonstrated skills and experience at promoting risk management practices across an organisation
•    Sound knowledge and experience at providing advice and strategies and analysing complex issues
•    Experience at training and educating staff
