About the role | Mō te tūnga 
The Practice Leader is part of the broader Care Services team.  We are responsible for providing professional leadership, influence and direction in order to maintain and enhance the level of practice excellence and capability at a national level. We embrace the principles of mana tamaiti, whakapapa and whanaungatanga.  We put tamariki, whanau, hapū and Iwi at the centre of everything we do and are committed to delivering on the mana tamaiti objectives.


The purpose of this role is to:
•    To lead the transfer of knowledge and our evidence base to practice. 
•    To ensure the strengthening of practice competency within the Adoption Service. 
•    To support the provision of quality professional supervision. 
•    To deliver training and to undertake practice audit and assurance


About you | Mōu

This role will play a crucial role in the success of the adoptions team.  We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference.  


If you demonstrate the following skills/experience, we would love for you to apply:

•    A relevant tertiary qualification in social work is mandatory
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong writing skills
•    Strong relationship skills both internally and externally to support practice 
•    Confident in discussion on cross-cultural issues and concerns
•    Experience developing capability through coaching and mentoring
•    Experience in training
•    Ability to identify and effectively manage risk
•    Demonstrated relevant experience in similar role or practice background
•    A clean, current driver’s licence is essential and a willingness to drive the Ministry’s vehicles and undertake some travel
