About Te Kāhui Kāhu

We are an independent government business unit within the Ministry of Social Development providing oversight functions on behalf of The Ministry of Social Development, Oranga Tamariki, Department of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Social Investment Agency and Ministry of Pacific Peoples.

Our main function is Social Services Accreditation. We provide assurance that social service providers can deliver quality services. We do this by assessing organisations against the Social Services Accreditation Standards (SSAS) and making sure they meet these standards.

About the Role

The purpose of the Salesforce System Administrator role is to ensure day-to-day administration of our Salesforce platform so that it runs smoothly and supports the needs of both internal staff and external social service providers. A key focus of the role is providing excellent customer service — triaging, resolving, and escalating issues quickly and effectively so users feel supported and confident in their use of the system. This role is our ‘front face’ to the Data and Digital team and plays a vital part in creating a reliable and positive experience for all users.

We have an established and well-functioning continuous improvement and continuous development (CI/CD) process, and this role offers the opportunity to learn and build experience in this area. Over time, the System Administrator will be able to contribute to the development and testing of enhancements as they move through their life cycle. We are committed to supporting the right customer-focused person to grow their technical capability and develop their Salesforce expertise within this environment.

What you’ll bring

  • A strong customer service focus, with the confidence to deliver clear advice and walk users through issues in a supportive way.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to listen well, engage with people at all levels, and translate “tech speak” into plain English.
  • An approachable, team-focused mindset, motivated by helping others and contributing to a positive user experience.
  • Great organisational skills, including inbox and time management, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, comfortable working where priorities can shift quickly.
  • A genuine interest in learning and growing — we’re happy to build your Salesforce technical capability and support you to develop expertise over time.
  • Familiarity with incident and problem resolution processes (preferred).
  • Experience with Salesforce administration tasks (nice to have, but not essential).
  • A willingness to learn and upskill in te ao Māori, including building confidence in using te reo and tikanga in your day-to-day mahi.

If you have a service desk or customer support background and are keen to grow into Salesforce, we’d love to hear from you.
