Instructional Designer, Learning and Capability Development

 

We have a 24 month fixed term/secondment opportunity in our Learning and Capability team.  We are looking for a talented instructional designer with proven skills in:

 

  • the application of learning design concepts, frameworks and technologies
  • content and storyboard development
  • learning design that enables remote, synchronous and asynchronous learning.  

 

Equal to this will be your solution focus, verbal and written communication skills and learner centred design. You will possess a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for developing and challenging others to continually improve their learning design

About the Role

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • developing tools, guidelines and approaches for use by members of the Learning and Capability Development team including learning assessment and evaluation
  • researching and identifying learning and development methodologies and standards that are appropriate to the MSD environment and that meets the needs and expectations of the business
  • identifying strategic opportunities to use innovative learning media and technologies
  • build team capability in written design in synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • developing and maintaining networks with key internal and external stakeholders, in order to keep them informed and share knowledge on L&D approaches.


 

Skills and Experience
In order to be successful in this role you will have: 

 

  • extensive experience working in areas of adult education, learning design, learning technologies, user experience design, and organisational capability and development, 
  • experience in the design, development and delivery of remote / virtual and blended learning solutions
  • demonstrated experience in leading the design, development and implementation of learning and capability solutions, strategies and programmes, including the use of a learning management system to support implementation, monitoring and evaluation 
  • experience working within large, complex organisations and dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • demonstrated ability to develop learning design capability in others 
  • excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing and building effective working relationships with people of all cultures and employees at all levels
  • a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably to post graduate level.

The Learning and Capability Development team builds capability across client facing and corporate staff.  We are a supportive team who pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service, being responsive to the changing needs of our organisation and developing highly effective solutions to support capability and talent.

 

You will work alongside other Learning and Capability Advisors, business stakeholders and learners to analyse learning needs, design, develop and evaluate highly effective capability development solutions.
