Executive Assistant to Regional Commissioner - Wellington - Fixed Term

Wellington, NZ

EA to Regional Commissioner - Wellington - 6 month fixed term

Ministry of Social Development

Six month Contract, Full Time based in our Regional Office

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who recognises clients are central to our organisation, staff are our number one asset and enabling people to be safe, strong and independent is our vision.

As Executive Assistant to the Regional Commissioner, Wellington you will often act as the first point of contact with people both internal and external, so reflecting these principles is essential in the role.

We are seeking someone who is proactive, self-managing, comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and has an unflappable approach in stressful situations.  You will need to engage with a range of people and demonstrate smart, vibrant and engaging communication skills.  You will also need to have the ability to keep things moving sometimes without direct input from your manager as they will often be out of the office.

The role involves working with the Regional Commissioner along with the wider regional office and leadership team to help things run smoothly.  The work is varied with multiple competing demands and can include reporting, issues management, event coordination plus diary, email and travel management.  In this position you may have access to highly sensitive material and we are therefore looking for a person of integrity with high professional standards and an awareness of the need for complete confidentiality.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

  • Sound experience in an EA/PA role at a senior management level
  • Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Experience with proactive diary management
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A reputation for being friendly, efficient and focussed on quality

You will need to agree to internal vetting and the completion of a police check as requirements of working for MSD. After appointment an immediate start is required.
