12-18 months fixed term or secondment starting November 2021


•    Lead the delivery of policy, insights and tools to improve the wellbeing of New Zealanders 
•    Build our agency’s policy capability to deliver cross-sector policy advice



About you


Are you an experienced senior leader who wants to influence the wellbeing of Aotearoa?  Do you have a policy background and want to broaden your experience?  Can you build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders?  This could be the role for you.  

We are looking for a smart, curious and agile leader to join us for 12 months to help us deliver our work programme.  You’ll have strong leadership experience and a passion for the social sector.  


About the role


As a member of our Executive Leadership Team you’ll be collaborating to build a strong and an inclusive culture across the agency.  You’ll lead high performing teams of specialists to deliver quality policy advice, insights, tools and practices for the social sector.  A focus area for the 12-18 months will be to build our policy and insights capability.  You’ll work alongside other social sector policy teams and build strong relationships with our key stakeholders across government and the social system.  


Who are we?  


We work on behalf of the social sector, taking a cross-sector view to give advice and help on issues that do not fit neatly into the work of any single agency and support a joined up social sector.  We support the sector’s capability to utilise insights by creating tools and practices that stimulate innovation and work with decision-makers to take insights and apply them.  


What we are looking for:


To be successful you’ll have:

•    Senior leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in environments with diverse stakeholders, preferably in the social sector.  
•    A policy background, with a deep understanding of the role data and analytics can play in informing decisions and policy.  
•    Experience in team management, financial management and project management.  
•    Proven experience managing complex stakeholder partnerships/relationships at a senior level.
