Team Leader Psychologist – Taranaki, Manawatu - Oranga Tamariki

 

1x Full Time - Fixed Term for 12 months
 
Clinical Services Oranga Tamariki invites applications from Registered Psychologists for one fixed term fulltime position to lead a team of psychologists across the Taranaki Manawatu regions. Base location is negotiable, and applicants must be registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. 
 
Clinical Services is an internal service of Oranga Tamariki with small teams of Psychologists and Therapists who provide psychological and therapeutic assessments and specialist interventions to tamariki and whanau who have experienced abuse and neglect. Oranga Tamariki are establishing an internal service of clinicians in regions and are keen for applicants who are passionate about developing and leading this service to support frontline Social Workers and their clients. This position will report to a Clinical Services Manager and have experience in supervising and managing teams of clinicians. 
 
Experience working with children in a care and protection environment, specifically providing assessment and therapy with children and their families/caregivers, and assessments of parenting capacity will be an advantage. Responsibilities will include working with a diverse client base, providing professional consultation to Social Workers, supporting a team of clinical psychologists and liaising with community providers.
 
The diversity in this role provides the flexibility in the use of evidence-based therapy models and intervention tools to achieve positive outcomes for tamariki and their whanau. Further, successful applicants will likely gain exposure to comprehensive parenting assessment work, DBT, PCIT and programmes with a Te Ao Maori focus.
