About the role | Mō te tūnga:
The Employment Coordinator plays a key role in helping clients with health conditions, illnesses, or disabilities access employment, training, and support services. You will work closely with clients to understand their skills and needs, helping them find suitable job opportunities and navigate challenges to stay employed. This role focuses on what clients can achieve, supporting their journey towards independence.
A skilled relationship builder, you understand peoples’ needs and tailor your service approach accordingly. You’ll assist clients with CV development and interview preparation, undertaking pre-employment checks, and providing clients with career and personal guidance, advice, mentoring and referring to agency providers where appropriate.
You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, are solutions-focused, and you have strong relationship management skills. Your ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing situations will help drive successful outcomes for clients and employers alike.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant experience working within the health, disability, or recruitment sectors.
- Strong understanding of current employment trends and challenges, particularly for those living with health conditions or disabilities.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to the needs of clients and employers
- A proactive, goal-oriented attitude and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- A tenacious but professional and driven approach to overcome roadblocks
- The ability to work collaboratively and develop solutions that meet both client and employer needs.
- A full, clean driver’s license and ability to travel around the Bay of Plenty region to meet employers.
