Health and Disability Coordinator – Taranaki, Whanganui and New Plymouth


Full Time Permanent Position


This role is working for the Taranaki Region and the successful applicant could be based in either the Plymouth or the Whanganui sites 


We are seeking an enthusiastic person with a strong commitment to client service, knowledge of health and disability issues – someone with the ability to build strong relationships between Work & Income and Health and Disability service providers.


You must be able to demonstrate exceptional people skills & empathy as well as sound understanding of how health and disability conditions impact on people’s quality of life. 


Your role will be crucial in making the services for our clients with ill health, injury or disability easier and more efficient as well as supporting with employment outcomes and helping health and disability providers to have good knowledge of Work and Income products and services. 


The successful applicant will be part of the Regional Health & Disability Team and work alongside the Regional Health Advisor and Regional Disability Advisor.


The Health and Disability Coordinator will build strong working relationships with GP practices and health and disability providers across the region to provide a clear understanding of how we can jointly support clients who have capacity to work to move into employment at the earliest opportunity.  Excellent communication skills will be paramount to achieve this.


Travel within the region will be required. Therefore, it is vital that you have a valid driver’s license and are willing to drive Ministry Vehicles.
