Case Managers - Dunedin Metro - Permanent and Fixed Term or secondment

Permanent, Full time and Fixed Term or Secondment (multiple lengths) through to 2023

We are seeking expressions of interest for Full Time Case Managers located in the Dunedin Metro area.

This is a great opportunity to not only be involved in a rewarding career, but to live and work in the second-largest city in the South Island which is fast becoming one of the coolest little cities in New Zealand.

Dunedin is well known for its laidback locals – humans and wildlife!  Only 10 minutes from beaches from just about anywhere in Dunedin, you’ll have the opportunity to visit colonies of albatross, sea lions and rare, yellow-eyed penguins.  And if it gets too cold to venture outside there’s a booming café culture and rich heritage to be a part of.

As a Case Manager you help clients access a wide range of tailored support. This face-to-face Case Management position includes having in-depth discussions with clients to uncover opportunities for employment and financial independence as appropriate.  You provide a range of support such as addressing housing instability through early intervention to secure tenancy, employment, vocational and training pathways that are aligned to individual needs. You will also work on the housing and income support queue and ensure that clients are supported financially and receiving their full and correct financial entitlement. You partner with clients to help them navigate through changing labour markets and opportunities, with the goal of securing sustainable employment.

About you

Pragmatic and empathetic, you enjoy dealing with people from all backgrounds. You remain calm under pressure and finding solutions to problems. Your welcoming approach and manāakitanga with our people will enable you to know them, understand how to best support them, and work with them to meet their needs. You treat people with respect and show care for those in vulnerable positions. You’ll bring a high level of personal integrity and initiative to the role and be comfortable and proficient using computer systems.

A full driver’s licence is preferred.
