Permanent, Full Time (37.55 hours per week)


We have an opportunity for Case Manager (Housing) to join our team on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone who is dependable to the core, with the grit and tenacity to show up and work hard even when the going is tough.


About the role

The role of the Case Manager (Housing) is to support people who are looking for help to secure affordable and stable housing, which can lead to outcomes in a number of other areas such as employment and health. This is predominantly a phone based role and provides services to people in the Northland region.


As a Case Manager (Housing) you’ll be responsible for assessing the needs of people applying for Public Housing, as well as for holding local knowledge on housing and providing options and advice. With the anticipated return of Tenancy Reviews in February 2019 you’ll also be responsible for working with a caseload of Public Housing tenants, reassessing eligibility and working proactively one on one stair casing people back into the private sector housing.

What skills do I need to be a Case Manager (Housing)?


You need to be comfortable working in a fast paced, pressured environment and have the confidence to make good decisions, often in isolation. Strong relationship and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to motivate and empower others to overcome barriers in a non-judgmental way. You need to be an excellent team player with amazing people skills, and someone who enjoys navigating through unexpected challenges. You will have experience identifying and assessing housing needs and also have a good handle on the local housing market in terms of opportunities, demands and issues.

  • Salary range D $46,688 to $64,196 per annum (in line with skills and experience).
