We are looking for an employment specialist to join our dedicated team as a Work Broker to help improve the lives of people in or community by sourcing and connecting them to sustainable job opportunities.
About the role
As a Work Broker you’ll engage with employers and stakeholders to provide a professional service to link our clients to suitable job opportunities.
You will use influence and networks to seek out current and future employment opportunities from employers across a range of industry sectors. This will involve cold calling, the use of technology and networking to bring in great opportunities for our job seekers.
You represent clients by marketing their skills to employers with a focus on longevity. You’ll work alongside employers to identify solutions to their current and future labour needs.
You’ll work alongside service centre colleagues to provide quality labour market information and promote employment and training opportunities to ensure sustainable employment outcomes are achieved.
You will be an integral part of the Top of the South Work Services team and will help support the rest of the team based throughout the region.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Be a highly motivated self-starter who is target and goal driven
- Understand what makes a great job match for both employers and employees
- Have excellent facilitation skills with the ability to engage an audience to influence positive change
- Able to work effectively as part of a wider team
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Work alongside clients and employers from diverse backgrounds\
- Be flexible, solutions focused and customer-centric
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be tenacious, professional and driven to overcome roadblocks
- Enjoy building relationships and making new connections
- Be able to travel around the region to meet employers as required
A full clean driver’s licence and the ability to travel around Greymouth and the greater Top of the South Region as required are essential for this role.

- Salary range $75,943 - $91,931 per annum (in line with skills, experience and performance).
