Administration Officer - Canterbury


  • Fulltime fixed term/secondment opportunity until 30 June 2023


We have an opportunity for an administration professional to join our team and deliver high quality, efficient and proactive administrative support in our Regional Office, situated in the heart of the city. 


About the role

This busy and varied role will see you managing and providing professional administration services critical to the support of our regional office operations, while supporting the management team to fulfil their roles efficiently and effectively. 

You will be responsible for numerous administration duties required to ensure the smooth running of our regional office, including preparation of agendas, room bookings, coordinating travel arrangements, some diary management, ordering of supplies and stationery, health and safety responsibilities and much more. 


About you

You are a conscientious, positive, and organised team player who is proactive and flexible to cope with regular interruptions and juggle and reassess priorities while maintaining a smile and a sense humour!  You’re also self-managing and easy-going, no task is too big or too small for you, and you take everything in your stride to get things done effectively and efficiently.  

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience supporting a team in an administrative capacity
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Restricted NZ Driver’s licence and ability to drive Ministry vehicles as required

Salary Band: $54,707.00 to $66,864.00 Application along this salary scale is dependent on relevant work experience and evidenced skills.
