Social Worker Resource Assistant - Rotorua


At Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, we work with some of the most at risk children and young people in the country, and we're passionate about it. We're looking for an Administrator to join us to provide support service to our Social Work team at our Rotorua site. This is a busy and varied role working under the supervision and guidance of a Supervisor.


You will be responsible for a range of social work administration duties including:

  • Gathering appropriate information to clients and colleagues.
  • Providing case management assistance to the Social Work team.
  • Assisting in managing client financial plans.
  • Maintaining reports and keeping updated records on our information systems database.
  • Support the Site Manager with administration duties as required.


To succeed in this unique opportunity, you will have:

  • Office administration and customer service experience.
  • A high level of competence in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong relationship building skills and experience dealing with members of the public.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organisation, planning and time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to problem solve and find solutions within tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and use your initiative.
  • A clean, current, full driver's licence.
