  • Salary range: $79,200 – $95,873 (starting rate depends on skills and experience)
  • Regional roles – We have 2 roles to fill that could be based in any of the following sites (Please note that you will need the flexibility to travel in and around the area you are based at)

 

Rotorua, Taupo, Tokoroa – Mt Maunganui, Whakatane and Te Puke

This is/these are regional positions, so you’ll need the flexibility to work across multiple sites within the Bay of Plenty region. The specific home base will be agreed at interview

 

As a Capability Developer, you’ll be a key driver of MSD’s workforce development across the region. Your purpose is to build the practice skills, confidence and professionalism of our frontline staff—Case Managers, Work Brokers and other customer-facing roles—so they can consistently deliver excellent outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

 

About the role | Mō te tūnga:

 

This is more than classroom training. You will:

 

  • Assess individual and team learning needs and translate them into practical development plans.
  • Design and deliver adult-learning solutions—workshops, on-the-job coaching, and micro-learning—tailored to the realities of busy service centres.
  • Provide one-to-one coaching and targeted feedback that lifts performance and embeds best practice.
  • Evaluate the impact of learning initiatives and feed those insights into continuous improvement.

What you’ll do | He aha tāu e mahi ana

 

  • Design and deliver adult-learning solutions tailored to staff and service-centre needs.
  • Coach individuals and teams to build skills and confidence.
  • Evaluate learning impact, analyse results and recommend improvements.
  • Keep accurate training and performance records.
  • Work collaboratively across sites to strengthen the client experience.
  • Travel between service centres as needed in a fully mobile role.

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga:

 

  • Proven experience in capability development, coaching or learning facilitation.
  • At least two years’ experience in delivering adult learning.
  • NZ Certificate in Adult Teaching Level 5 (or currently enrolled).
  • Skill in measuring learning effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • A full New Zealand driver licence and the ability to drive a Ministry vehicle.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00
