Do you want to make a difference for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau? We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our Care Services team, in the role of Team Leader Clinical Programmes. 

 

 

 

What you will do?

 

  • Ensure that interventions, programmes and steps are put in place for each tamariki and rangatahi effectively addresses underlying trauma,  health needs, criminogenic and behavioural issues
  • Facilitate and monitor adherence to and consistency with, community residential service, model service principals and standards, ensure clinical best practice standards and evidence-based practice 
  • Provide individual and group professional leadership, support, supervision, skill and knowledge
  • Provide oversight to ensure accurate documentation of clinical interventions 
  • Ensure that clinical services are available to children and young people on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis 
  • Fulfil the administrative and management requirements of the role

 

What you will bring?
  • Tertiary level qualification in education, social work, nursing (in mental health) or another related field and a Master’s degree in psychology
  • Two years minimum clinical and therapeutic experience coordinating work within multi-disciplinary setting with children and young people to address complex behavioural issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
  • Strong engagement and relationship building skills
  • Understanding of the model of Multi Systematic Therapy, the analytic process and how this is applied to clinical and therapeutic interventions
  • Understanding of social systems theory, ecological theory and how this informs assessment and intervention
  • Empathy, patience and ability to see past what someone may be struggling with
  • The ability to manage risk and make difficult decisions
  • Sound knowledge of the theories of Child Development and Family
  • Ability to discern and unpack complex situations

What team you will work with?

This role forms part of the leadership team within our Community Residential Services Auckland (CRSA).  CRSA provides residential care to tamariki and rangatahi in a community setting.  Leading a team of 3 – 5 you will be part of a larger team who support 3 residences in the South Auckland area.

 

You will work closely with external providers from Counties Manukau Health and the Police as well as other agencies, this makes the role unique and the outcomes, being a small win or larger, hugely rewarding.  The diversity in this role provides the flexibility in the use of evidence-based therapy models and intervention tools to achieve possible outcomes for tamariki and their whanau.  We are committed to services that are culturally appropriate, we recognise and have a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
