Mō te tūnga | About the role: 


As the Manager Operations and Delivery, you will lead the delivery of important services to other government agencies and the public.  


You will make sure these services such as Alternate Formats, Disability Information Services, and guiding the roll-out of government-wide Employment Pathways initiatives are well-planned, resourced, and delivered in a way that truly meets the needs of those we serve.


You’ll also help shape how other agencies communicate and engage with disabled people and tāngata whaikaha Māori, using tools and guidance developed by your team.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Lead and support your team to deliver high-quality services like Alternate Formats and Disability Information.
  • Oversee the implementation of the cross-government Employment Pathways plan, attracting, developing, and retaining disabled people across the public sector.
  • Help other agencies improve how they engage with disabled people through clear guidance and support.
  • Monitor how well initiatives are working and adjust delivery to better meet the needs of Whaikaha and its stakeholders.

 

 

Mōu | About you: 

 

  • Broad experience leading within the disability sector to produce key outputs to a variety of government agencies.
  • Successful experience influencing and engaging internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Understanding of employment dynamics for businesses and for disabled people, with the ability to find pragmatic solutions.
  • Experience managing operational delivery including resource allocation, prioritisation, and coordination to ensure timely delivery of outputs that align to strategic priorities.
  • People leadership experience, this could include volunteer or sports leadership experience.  


To undertake this role successfully you will either be a disabled person, or you will be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community.

Salary band: $117,419 - $174,069
