Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for public service? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy influencing through evidence and engagement?

 

We're looking for a Principal Advisor Communications to join our Engagement, Ministerial and Communications team in Wellington. This senior-level role is pivotal in leading strategic communications and engagement across the Social Investment Agency (SIA) and the Social Investment Fund (SIF). Reporting to the Manager, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, responsible for delivering expert communication strategies that promote transparency, strengthen our public profile, and engage effectively with stakeholders and the public.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in a senior communications role.
  • Deep understanding of strategic communications principles, tools, and channels.
  • Experience managing complex issues and delivering under pressure.
  • Strong relationship management skills, political savvy, and experience engaging with iwi and Māori stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and advisory skills.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and public service values.
  • A resilient, curious, and agile mindset – someone who thrives in collaboration and continuous improvement.

 

Utu ā-tau | Salary

 

Band 19: Min $148 878 – Midpoint $175 150  Max $210 180 based on relevant skills and professional experience with offers generally made between $148 878 and $175 150
