Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fund Accountant to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the Social Investment Fund (SIF) and the Social Investment Agency (SIA). Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role works closely with the Chief Executive of SIA, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and other key stakeholders.

 

The Fund Accountant will primarily focus on establishing and maintaining strong financial management, reporting, and control frameworks for the SIF, while also providing support to SIA’s financial functions as needed.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting the creation of a robust financial control environment for the SIF.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of financial reporting frameworks.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and reporting on financial performance.
  • Providing insightful financial analysis to support value for money and identify trends or opportunities in current and future spending.
  • Contributing to financial planning, performance measurement, and risk management initiatives.

He kōrero mōu | About you

 

You’re a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) with a relevant tertiary qualification and strong experience in financial accounting or auditing within the public sector. You’re confident navigating public sector accounting standards, tax requirements, the Public Finance Act, and Cabinet/Treasury guidance.

 

Key skills include:

 

  • Proficiency with accounting systems and financial modelling
  • Strong analytical thinking, risk awareness, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members

 

A satisfactory credit check and willingness to disclose potential conflicts of interest related to procurement may be required.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

 

Min $104,885 - Mid 123,394 - Max $148,073
