Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
The Director of Enabling Services is a senior leader within the Strategy and Performance division, responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the Social Investment Agency (SIA). This role ensures the effective delivery of programmes, services, and initiatives aligned with the agency’s strategic goals.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director drives organisational performance by strengthening internal processes and leading functions such as Engagement, Ministerial and Communications, People and Culture, Risk, Assurance and Governance, and Technology—all critical to supporting the objectives of both SIA and the Social Investment Fund (SIF).
Working closely with the DCE Strategy and Performance, the Director contributes to strategic planning, business operations, budgeting, and policy development. The role also deputises for the DCE, including fulfilling Chief Security Officer (CSO) responsibilities when required.

You bring a relevant tertiary qualification and significant leadership experience in operational roles—ideally in government or similar settings. With a strong background in people management, strategic planning, and organisational performance, you're confident leading enabling services and aligning operational delivery to meet business needs.
You're a credible, adaptable leader with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Comfortable in fast-moving environments and complex situations, you balance strategic insight with hands-on execution. Your values-driven approach is inclusive, resilient, and grounded in integrity, and you bring an understanding of Mātauranga Māori and tikanga.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
Band 21: Min $196,690 – Midpoint $ 231 400 – Max $277,680 based on relevant skills and professional experience.
