Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving system-wide change through evidence-based investment? The Social Investment Agency (SIA) is seeking a visionary Director – Investment and Performance to lead a high-impact team at the heart of government decision-making.

 

About Us:

As a central agency, SIA plays a critical role in system stewardship, standard setting, and investment advice. Our System Performance and Investment Advice Group works closely with Ministers to design and influence the social system, ensuring investments are targeted to deliver better outcomes for New Zealanders.

 

The Role:

As Director – Investment and Performance, you will lead a team responsible for delivering:

 

  • Investment and Performance Advice: Partnering with Treasury and other agencies to improve understanding of impact, identify investment opportunities, and advise on system-wide performance.
  • System Performance Insights: Delivering actionable, repeatable insights grounded in data and evidence to support strategic decision-making.
  • System Monitoring: Overseeing performance of the Social Investment Fund and other entities and implementing a maturity framework to assess and improve system commissioning and delivery.


You’ll work closely with the Deputy Chief Executive and other senior leaders to translate strategic plans into operational deliverables, manage business planning, and monitor budgets and policies.

  • Experience working with Ministers and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to translate data and evidence into credible, actionable advice
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for communities through system change

 

Salary range: $201,025.00 - $283,800.00

 

Starting salaries are negotiated based on relevant skills and experience, with offers generally made between $201 025 and $236 500.
