Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
As our new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you’ll shape and deliver the Social Investment Agency’s (SIA) and Social Investment Fund’s (SIF) technology strategy—driving transformation through digital innovation, AI enablement, and customer-focused platforms.
This senior leadership role is hands-on, strategic, and deeply impactful—supporting cross-sector change, smarter investments, and better results for communities.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and implement a future-focused technology and AI strategy for SIA and SIF.
- Oversee design, integration, and continuous improvement of secure, scalable digital systems.
- Build strong vendor relationships and manage commercial contracts.
- Champion modern tools to uplift organisational capability and support social service delivery.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership and guide the technology roadmap.
- Lead a high-performing team and foster a collaborative, agile tech culture.

You’re a strategic thinker and proven tech leader with a strong track record in digital transformation.
- Experience establishing tech in low-maturity environments.
- Deep understanding of AI, cloud platforms, data systems, and emerging digital trends.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
- Experience in public sector or highly regulated environments preferred.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competency in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
Band 21: Min $196 690 Midpoint $231 400 Max $277 680 based on relevant skills and professional experience.
